Junkoo Kim, founder of WEBTOON, has served as our Chief Executive Officer since September 2016 when the company was incorporated, overseeing corporate management and the global content business. Mr. Kim currently serves as Chairman of our board of directors. 

Mr. Kim joined NAVER Corporation as a developer in 2004, and has over 19 years of experience in comics/digital content. Mr. Kim studied Applied Chemistry at Seoul National University and received a Bachelor of Science degree.

Yongsoo Kim serves as President of WEBTOON Entertainment since March 2026. He previously held the roles of Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Global WEBTOON, where he oversaw WEBTOON’s U.S. and international markets and led key strategic initiatives that accelerated the company’s global integration and growth. He has played a key role in expanding WEBTOON’s global platform and advancing its IP ecosystem across content, entertainment, and strategic partnerships.

Prior to joining WEBTOON, Mr. Kim was a Principal at the global investment firm KKR, where he led turnaround efforts for portfolio companies and managed investment activities in Korea. Earlier in his career, he was an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company and a member of the founding team of Tesla’s Korea operations.

In addition to his executive role, Mr. Kim is a director of LD Carbon and previously held a directorship at ECORBIT (formerly TSK Corporation) and an auditor role at HD Hyundai Marine Solution. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Yonsei University.

David J. Lee is Chief Financial Officer for WEBTOON Entertainment and assumed the role of President of Wattpad in April 2026. He previously served as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of WEBTOON Entertainment, and continues to maintain his responsibilities as CFO in his current expanded role. A seasoned consumer and technology industry executive, Mr. Lee brings over 25 years of experience across a variety of leadership roles.

Prior to WEBTOON, Mr. Lee was the Co-Founder and CEO of Inevitable Tech while serving as a public company board member for a few passion projects. Previously, Mr. Lee was the COO & CFO of Impossible Foods, where he successfully led the company’s launch of the Impossible Burger and its nationwide distribution. Prior to Impossible Foods, Lee was the public company CFO of Zynga, where he led the company’s finance and corporate development teams, and helped lead the company’s transformation from web-based to mobile. From 2004 to 2012, Mr. Lee held leadership roles at Del Monte Foods while it was public, and led its take-private transaction, overseeing at various times the consumer products business, corporate strategic planning, government relations, corporate communications, and financial planning. Mr. Lee also led corporate finance, strategy and development for Best Buy during its transformation from 2012 to 2014.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Lee worked in advertising at the Leo Burnett company and strategy at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Lee currently serves on the Board of Directors for Zevia ($ZVIA on NYSE) and WEBTOON ($WBTN on Nasdaq), where he has served on audit, comp, and nom/gov committees. Mr. Lee is a Fellow at the Council of Korean Americans and the Network of Korean American Leaders. He earned his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.A. from Harvard College.

Hyeeun Son is the Chief Design Officer for WEBTOON Entertainment and its subsidiaries, overseeing design for the company’s webcomic and webnovel platforms. Ms. Son joined NAVER as a designer in 2006, and has extensive experience in entertainment products including games and music as well as brand and marketing design. In September 2017, Ms. Son joined NAVER WEBTOON, was appointed Vice President of NAVER WEBTOON in March 2019, and then Chief Design Officer of WEBTOON Entertainment in 2022. 

Prior to joining NAVER, Ms. Son worked as a web designer for about six years at Tien, Danal, and CJ Internet. Ms. Son received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication Design from Hongik University.

Masamine Takahashi is the Chief Executive Officer of LINE Digital Frontier, a Japanese subsidiary of WEBTOON Entertainment that operates LINE MANGA and ebookjapan, leading corporate management since July 2022.

Mr. Takahashi previously worked at the Yahoo! Japan Corporation, joining in 2006. In 2018, Mr. Takahashi was elevated to Head of Digital Content Division at Yahoo! Japan, responsible for games, manga, fortune, and dating services. Prior to Yahoo! Japan, Mr. Takahashi has also served as an IT Business Consultant at IX Knowledge Inc. Mr. Takahashi received a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Tokyo International University.

Sinbae Kim is the Chief Business Officer of WEBTOON Entertainment’s Japan business, where he leads business operations and the IP business for LINE MANGA and ebookjapan. Since joining the company in 2013, Mr. Kim initially oversaw business strategy development for the Southeast Asian market at LINE+. He later joined NAVER WEBTOON in September 2017, where he managed strategic planning and the IP business. In August 2020, he began overseeing strategy and planning for the Japan business, and in May 2022, he was appointed Vice President of NAVER WEBTOON. Mr. Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from KAIST and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Harvard University.

Kyunam Kim is the Chief Risk Officer for WEBTOON Entertainment and its subsidiaries, overseeing legal and public relations since August 2024. Mr. Kim joined NAVER WEBTOON in February 2018, and he assumed leadership for legal in August 2019, a role he held until January 2024. Mr. Kim was appointed Vice President at NAVER WEBTOON in May 2022, and he was promoted to Senior Vice President in March 2025. 

Mr. Kim previously worked at GS Engineering and Construction. Mr Kim received a Bachelor of German Language and Literature degree from Korea University and his Juris Doctor degree from Korea University's Law School.

Yuki Chae is the Chief Product Officer for WEBTOON Entertainment, a role he assumed in April 2026. In this capacity, he oversees the global product strategy and planning for the company’s webcomic and webnovel platforms, following his successful tenure as Head of Korean Content Services.

Chae joined NAVER in 2013, before transitioning to WEBTOON to support the company’s webcomics and webnovel business in 2014. As senior manager, Chae oversaw strategic planning, data analysis, content management, and platform operations for content services across the United States, Korea, and Japan. In 2021, he transitioned to product planning and service operations for LINE Digital Frontier in Japan and was appointed as Vice President at NAVER WEBTOON in 2022, before leading Operations for WEBTOON’s US business In 2023. Chae holds a bachelor's degree in Media & Communications from Korea University.

Mikyung Kwon (Michelle) is Chief Executive Officer for STUDIO N, a subsidiary of WEBTOON Entertainment founded in August 2018 to produce films, TV series, animation, and other entertainment content based on webcomic and webnovel IP. Ms. Kwon has overseen STUDIO N’s business and corporate management from its founding to the present. Ms. Kwon has adapted original IP from WEBTOON Entertainment and its subsidiaries, producing hits like “Bloodhounds,” which landed on Netflix’s Top 10 lists (Non-English TV series) in 2023, and “Sweet Home,” which ranked third among Netflix TV series worldwide in 2020. Prior to incorporating STUDIO N, Ms. Kwon was the COO of CJ ENM’s film division, the largest entertainment company in Korea, where she oversaw the company’s film slate. 

Previously, Ms. Kwon served as the director of marketing for Walt Disney Korea Studios from 2011 to 2013 and was in charge of film marketing for CJ Entertainment from 2006 to 2011. Ms. Kwon received a BA in physics and French Language & Literature from Sookmyung Women’s University and an MA in Transnational Communication and Global Media from the University of London’s Goldsmiths College.

Kyuho Roh is the Head of Global Ads for WEBTOON Entertainment. Roh joined NAVER in 2007, working on service planning and display advertising, focusing on the entertainment and commerce sectors. In 2014, Kyuho transitioned to a leadership role in NAVER WEBTOON’s advertising for the webcomics and webnovel businesses. Since 2017, he has been developing global advertising strategies as senior manager and was appointed as Vice President at NAVER WEBTOON in 2022. He holds a master's degree in Media & Communications from Sogang University.
